Job Description

COS Recruitment are recruiting! We’re looking for an Administrator to join the team in Macclesfield as our current Administrator is moving on for pastures new. Here she is to tell you more about the role…!

I joined COS in early 2015 having come from quite a varied background. I’d never worked in recruitment before, but quickly realised that this was definitely the epitome of a varied role! From a huge range of admin tasks to customer service, compliance, account management, data, marketing, H&S and more, I regularly find myself multitasking and utilising my full range of skills, which is fantastic!

As the Administrator for the whole business, the role is there to offer full support to the team of recruitment consultants, the managing director and the wider business. The position has grown organically in the 4 ½ years I’ve been here, and is definitely perfect for someone who wants real variation on a daily basis.”

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

As the new Administrator, you’ll initially be undertaking the following crucial tasks:

  • Writing job adverts and posting on a wide range of online platforms
  • Registering candidates, formatting CVS and inputting details on to the internal database
  • Taking general enquiries both over the phone and in person
  • Providing support in finding new candidates for the consultant team
  • Finding leads and new opportunities for business
  • Coordinating candidate documents and liaising with the external payroll to ensure candidates are fully registered
  • Covering desks for consultants when required

You’ll be able to shape this role to suit your skill set and the needs of the business over time. Whether that means getting involved in sales and marketing, or perhaps coordinating health and safety tasks, it’s definitely open to discussion!

WHAT SKILLS/EXPERIENCE DO I NEED?

You must be organised and able to think on your feet. You should be someone who is ‘present’ in their role – i.e. not someone who is just looking to coast to pay day! You’ll be a key part of the team and so must be able to juggle tasks with ease. We’ll also be looking for…

  • Excellent IT skills: You must be very confident with a computer, with advanced Word skills (able to adjust complicated formatting and create documents for example). Confidence in using databases would also be great!
  • Strong people skills: As well as great communication, you must be confident speaking to people from all walks of life, both over the phone and face-to-face, and potentially dealing with emotive, tricky situations.
  • Strong written language skills: you must have a good command of writing for multiple platforms, as well as good grammar and spelling!
  • Organisation: We know it says this above, but it’s so important we’ve mentioned it again! Because each day can be so different, you must know where you’re up to at all times!
  • An ability and eagerness to learn: You’ll become the ‘go to’ person for a lot of things quite quickly. You must be able to research, teach yourself and report back to the team as well as completing new tasks to a high standard.

We’re looking for someone on a temp to perm basis, with an ideal start date in mid-July.

If you’re local to Macclesfield and are looking for a genuinely different opportunity in a friendly, supportive company with scope to progress, apply now!

Due to the high level of applications we receive, we are unable to respond to individual submissions. Therefore if you have not received a response within 48 hours you have unfortunately been unsuccessful in your application this time.
