The skills and aptitudes needed for success as a Recruitment Consultant are, essentially, very different from those required of an 'H.R.' or 'Personnel' Consultant. A Recruitment Consultant's role will usually include a substantial amount of sales, both 'warm' sales - development of existing accounts - and 'cold' sales - targeting prospective new clients. Successful Consultants will always, therefore, be extremely 'driven' individuals, display a strong self-belief and positive 'can do' attitude and often have a history showing a highly competitive nature. Although personal accountability is essential, the ability to deliver greater results through effective team working is an increasingly sought-after skill in today's marketplace.

To be considered for a Consultancy role at COS we require ambitious, confident and goal oriented individuals who enjoy responsibility and working in a high-pressure environment. They should have proven sales experience, the ability to handle multiple priorities and work to strict sales targets and deadlines. Excellent planning ability, interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work shift hours (we work 2 types of shift - 8am to 4.30pm and 10.30am to 7pm) is essential, plus own transport, clean driving license and good keyboard and IT skills.

Initial Company Induction and Performance Training
(1 day)
   
Basic Level Recruitment Training
(6 modules taken over a 5 day period):
  - Candidates and Interviewing
- Clients and Sales
- Permanent Jobs
- Temporary Bookings
- Administration and Accounts Familiarisation
   
Senior Level Recruitment Training
(4 modules taken over a 2 day period):
  - Advanced Interviewing
- Process Management
- Advanced Sales
- Client Visits and Presentations
 
All our Consultants are required to undertake Certificate Level REC qualifications within their first year (Diploma Level for Team Leaders) and these courses and subsequent membership of the REC is paid by the company.

We may consider applications from candidates without recruitment experience, provided they are able to demonstrate strong, previous sales success (including cold calling).
