Temp Work
Whenever we receive a temporary assignment suited to your skills and requirements we'll call you to provide you with all the information you need about the position. Whilst undertaking temporary assignments for COS Recruitment the Terms of Engagement for Temporary Workers, supplied at registration (and available in our downloads section of this site), will apply and you should therefore read them carefully.

You don't have to accept any assignment offered and we'll never ask you to undertake an assignment for which you're not qualified.

You'll be sent a letter confirming each assignment you've accepted. A separate timesheet (available in our downloads section) is required to be completed for each assignment undertaken and you will be paid by the hour, to the nearest quarter hour, for the hours recorded on your timesheet and verified by your supervisor. No payments are made for hours not actually worked. It's important that you return your signed/authorised timesheet to our Administration Department at our Head Office in Knutsford by 11am on the Monday following the week you have worked. For speed, this should either be faxed, or emailed using our on-line timesheet authorisation facility.

Wherever possible we will give you advice about the dress-code for a particular assignment, but if in doubt always dress in a business-like manner.

Please respect our clients' policies regarding personal 'phone calls and sending emails - always ask for permission first and wherever possible conduct personal business in your lunch break. DO NOT leave your mobile 'phone switched on to the 'ring' setting during working hours.

Every company has their own Health and Safety Policy and it's vital that you familiarise yourself with their rules and procedures when you're working on temporary assignments. Your Consultant will let you know any special circumstances or requirements before you start, but remember that you have a responsibility to take care to protect your own safety and the safety of any other workers with whom you come into contact and report any dangers to our client companies.

Please remember that all information which you come across while temping for one of our clients must be treated in the strictest confidence.

Most organisations now operate a no smoking policy in the workplace and many do not allow the consumption of alcohol during working hours - whether on or off the premises.

If you are unable to carry out an assignment, or part of an assignment due to illness or for any other reason, it's very important that you let our Consultant know immediately - don't forget we're open from 8am daily!

Permanent Work
Once you're registered, be prepared - things happen fast at COS! Because our computer system is networked, every Consultant in all our branches has access to your details and they'll be busy working to get you your perfect job. We don't wait for vacancies to come in for you - we go out and find them!

Once we've identified the right job for you we don't believe in just wishing you 'good luck' and leaving the interview to chance - our Information Pack, provided prior to every interview you attend, contains an extensive guide to help you to do your best on the day and has been proven to increase your chances of obtaining an offer by up to 50%.

We'll ask you to pop in for a pre-interview chat before you go, to give you more detailed information regarding the interview format, help you prepare any questions and get rid of any interview nerves! This really is important to securing the job, so please do your very best to make time for this briefing.
